Kirsty’s story
Kirsty qualified as a nurse in 1999 and has worked in hospitals, residential care and, for much of her career, in people’s own homes, helping them stay independent. Working alongside other care agencies, she kept seeing standards she didn’t think were good enough. When her own mum needed support, she saw the gap first-hand, and Aurora was born.
“I’m so passionate about providing bespoke care that supports people in their own homes and keeps them independent. It’s what I’ve spent my career working towards.”
The name
The name means a lot to us both. Kirsty’s son went to Aurora Boveridge, a specialist college for young people with autism, and it was the making of him. Kayleigh has a love of astronomy, and an aurora is a natural light glowing in the night sky.
What makes us different
Bespoke, person-centred support
Every plan is built around one person: what they enjoy, what has become harder, and what would make the biggest difference.
The directors visit too
Kirsty and Kayleigh do visits themselves, so they know every client.
At least an hour
Visits are at least an hour, so carers have time to really get to know people.
Families are kept in the loop
Regular contact, notes in the CareLineLive app, and a monthly review.
Honest about fit
If Aurora is not the right support, we say so. We would rather point you somewhere else than take on a plan we cannot do well.
