Our care

Help getting out: shopping, outings and appointments

Getting out of the house keeps life feeling full. Our carers drive your loved one to the places they love and the appointments they need, at an unhurried pace.

  • Supermarkets, coffee shops, garden centres and farm shops
  • Memory cafés, exercise classes, swimming and the library
  • The hairdresser
  • GP and hospital appointments

How often, and for how long

From one hour, as part of a regular plan rather than a one-off trip.

  • Shaftesbury’s shops and cafés
  • Mere’s cafés, garden centre and Waitrose
  • Udder Farm Shop
  • The Hillbrush factory
  • Swimming at Evercreech
  • Supermarkets in Wincanton and Frome

How the driving works

Carers drive in their own cars and all hold business car insurance. Mileage for trips within a visit is charged. We'll explain this at your home visit.

At the appointment

Carers can come into a GP or hospital appointment and take notes for the family if you'd like them to.

A real example

One client goes swimming every week with her carer.

Areas we cover

North Dorset, South Somerset and South Wiltshire. Call Kirsty with your postcode if you are not sure.

What families say

“These girls and this business is quite the best. They are fun, professional, reliable and immensely kind and thoughtful. The business as such is very efficiently run and their communication skills with the family and their charges are superb.”

“Aurora Care are the most amazing group of carers. Their experience and compassion are second to none, and they continually go above and beyond for my mum. They haven't just cared for her, they've supported our whole family too. Even though I live four hours away, they've eased so much worry because I know she's in such great hands. Thank you, Kirsty, Kayleigh and the team, you are truly a wonderful group of people and we have been so fortunate to find you.”

“My Mum has been using Aurora Care for a few months. Her carers have been exceptional; friendly, kind, diligent and very caring. Nothing has been too much trouble for them to do.”

Bethany F. Google review

“Lovely ladies, extremely passionate about providing person centred care to the community. Highly recommend.”

“[Her carer] has been an amazing companion/carer for my Mum who has vascular dementia and Alzheimer's. Mum has always been fiercely independent & with [her carer]'s support, we have the reassurance of knowing that she is safe & well cared for but can continue to live independently in her own home.”
